Menopause as an Awakening: Learning to Listen to Your Body, Your Intuition, and God

What if menopause isn't breaking you… but waking you up?
That question came through for me today.
And the more I sat with it, the more I realized that this isn't just about menopause.
It is about becoming available again.
Available to listen.
Available to receive.
Available to question.
Available to hear that quiet inner knowing we call intuition—and, for me, available to hear the wisdom of God.
Inspiration is a receiving.
I have been thinking about the difference between inspiration and intuition.

Inspiration is in Spirit. It is a receiving.
Intuition is an inner knowing. It is your truth.
But are we listening?
Are we available to receive?
Because when we are disconnected, we can actually block the flow of inspiration.
Our minds are so busy.
The thoughts keep coming.
What should I do?
What should I say?
What will people think?
Am I doing enough?
Am I doing it right?
What does everyone else expect from me?
And sometimes we don't even realize how much of our life is being directed by those thoughts.
We simply follow them.
Until something happens that makes us stop.
What if you questioned your thoughts?
This is something I am learning myself:
The moment you start questioning your thoughts, you start bringing your power back.
We let our thoughts dictate our actions.
We let other people dictate what we should be doing.
We let old beliefs, old habits and old identities make decisions for us.
But what happens when we become still?
What happens when we pause and ask:
Is this actually true?
Is this serving me?
Why am I doing this?
What is the motive behind this action?
And most importantly:
God, what are You trying to show me?
For me, that question changes everything.
Because when I become still and ask the Divine what He wants me to learn or do today, it feels like I am opening the door for God's wisdom to come in.
And maybe that is what we need more of.
Less noise.
More stillness.
Less forcing.
More receiving.
Menopause is a second adolescence.
I have been saying this for a while now:

Menopause is the second adolescence.
Think about adolescence.
Your body changes.
Your hormones change.
Your identity begins to change.
You start questioning who you are and where you fit.
You don't necessarily want to be the child you were anymore, but you don't yet know exactly who you are becoming.
I think something very similar happens in menopause.
Except this time, we have decades of habits, beliefs, responsibilities and expectations wrapped around us.
Many women have spent years being the good girl.
Be nice.
Don't question.
Take care of everyone.
Be responsible.
Keep going.
Put yourself last.
Don't disappoint anyone.
Do what you're supposed to do.
And then somewhere in our 40s, 50s or beyond, something inside starts saying:
I don't think I can do this anymore.
We may feel exhausted.
Unfulfilled.
Disconnected.
We may lose our energy.
We may look in the mirror and wonder where we went.
We may feel like something is missing but can't quite put our finger on what it is.
And sometimes we think we are broken.
But what if we're not?
What if the old version of you no longer fits?

There comes a moment in life when things simply don't seem to work anymore.
The way you used to live doesn't feel right.
The things you used to tolerate become intolerable.
The relationships you used to accept begin to feel different.
The work that once fulfilled you may no longer fulfill you.
Your body may begin giving you signals that you can no longer ignore.
And you start asking questions.
Who have I been all this time?
What have I believed?
What have I allowed?
What habits have I created?
What thoughts are running my life?
What is the motivation behind the things I do every day?
This questioning can feel uncomfortable.
But I believe it is also where the awakening begins.
Because you can't become the woman you are meant to be while constantly dragging the old version of yourself into the future.
You have to be willing to let some things go.

I love the image of the cocoon.
From the outside, it looks like nothing is happening.
But inside?
Everything is changing.
That is how I see this season of life for so many women.
There are deep internal changes happening before the outside transformation becomes visible.
You are not necessarily falling apart.
You may be reorganizing.
You may be shedding an identity that no longer fits.
You may be discovering desires you buried.
You may be learning to listen to your body instead of overriding it.
You may be learning to trust your intuition.
You may be learning to hear God differently.
You may be awakening to the woman you were created to be.
And eventually…
the cocoon opens.

The butterfly emerges.
Not because she became someone else.
But because she finally became who she was created to be.
🦋
Don't wait until your body forces you to stop.
I see so many women entering their 40s and 50s who are suddenly stopped by an illness, a health condition, exhaustion or something else that makes continuing the old way impossible.
And sometimes they look back and realize:
My body was trying to get my attention for years.
The whispers were there.
The subtle signs were there.
But they kept forcing.
They kept doing.
They kept taking care of everyone else.
Until eventually, their body said:
Stop.
I don't want that to be your story.
I want you to learn to listen to the whispers before they become screams.
This isn't about ignoring medical care or pretending every symptom has a spiritual meaning.
It is about becoming curious.
About paying attention.
About taking responsibility for what you are allowing into your body, your mind and your soul.
And about asking better questions.
This is why my work is changing.
Someone asked me yesterday:
"What is your job title? What kind of clientele do you work with?"
And my answer surprised even me.
I used to call myself a Health, Life & Wellness Coach.
But I am realizing that my work goes much deeper than that.
I am here to minister to women into their highest being, their menopause awakening
For me, that means helping women move toward:
Better health.
Greater connection with the Creator.
A better relationship with themselves.
Better relationships with others.
Greater freedom.
More joy.
More independence.
More awareness.
More life.
Because wellness isn't just what you eat.
It isn't just exercise.
It isn't just your hormones.
It isn't just your mindset.
It is who you are being while you are doing the daily do's.
And sometimes the smallest shifts can begin creating an entirely different life.
So I want to ask you…
What if this season isn't about becoming who you used to be?
What if it is about discovering who you were created to become?
What if the exhaustion is inviting you to slow down?
What if the questioning is bringing your power back?
What if your intuition is trying to tell you something?
What if God is inviting you into a deeper relationship with Him?
What if this isn't the end of something?
What if this is your menopause awakening?
Girl, nothing changes until you decide to break the habit of being yourself.
You don't have to become someone you aren't.
You have to become willing to let go of the version of you that no longer fits.
And then…
listen.
Get still.
Question.
Receive.
And see what comes through.
🦋
This is your season.
We are already halfway through the year.
Don't wait for January.
Don't wait for another birthday.
Don't wait until your body forces you to stop.
Let this be the season you choose yourself.
Let December be your own Christmas gift to yourself—and to everyone who gets to experience the woman you are becoming.
If something in this spoke to you, I would love to walk alongside you.
