The Harsh Truth That Might Give You Hope

Why the peace, love, and joy you've been searching for might be closer than you think.

Have you ever found yourself wanting MORE of something in your life, but no matter what you do, it just doesn't seem to show up?

More peace.

More love.

More strength.

More money.

More energy.

More joy.

Maybe you've read the books, listened to the podcasts, attended the workshops, changed your habits, prayed about it, and done so much work on yourself.

And yet, something still feels missing. Feeling stuck in midlife.

You find yourself asking:

"Why am I still feeling this way when I've done so much work on myself?"

I want to share something I heard recently that completely shifted my perspective.

And perhaps it will shift yours, too.

What if the way you're searching for MORE is keeping you from experiencing it?

Here's the harsh truth that can also bring so much hope.

Sometimes, without realizing it, we approach the things we want from a place of LACK.

We want more peace because we believe our lives are chaotic.

We want more love because we feel unloved or unappreciated.

We want more strength because we feel weak and exhausted.

We want more joy because we've become so focused on everything that isn't going right.

And here's what happens.

What we consistently focus our attention on becomes what we notice most.

Our minds begin collecting evidence that supports the stories we've been telling ourselves.

Stories we've carried for years.

Stories about who we are, what we deserve, and what life is supposed to look like.

And sometimes those stories were never even ours to begin with.

They came from our upbringing, our relationships, our responsibilities, and the expectations we learned to live by.

But what if we could begin telling a different story to find peace in midlife?

What if MORE begins with noticing what is already there?

Instead of waking up thinking, "I need more peace in my life," what if you started noticing the moments that already bring you peace?

The quiet moments before everyone wakes up.

The warmth of your morning coffee.

The sound of birds outside your window.

A prayer that reminds you that you don't have to carry everything alone.

Instead of asking why you aren't receiving more love, what if you started by loving yourself a little more?

Thanking your body for everything it does for you.

Giving yourself permission to rest.

Speaking to yourself with the same kindness you offer everyone else.

Recognizing that you are worthy of love, even on the days when you haven't accomplished anything.

You see, you cannot keep approaching life from the same patterns and expect to experience something completely different.

And this is especially important for us women navigating midlife.

Because for decades, many of us have been operating from a place of responsibility, productivity, perfectionism, and putting everyone else's needs before our own.

We became so good at DOING that we forgot how to simply BE.

A Conversation With One of My Clients That Revealed Something Powerful

Recently, I was coaching a woman whose goal was to create more peace in her life.

During our conversation, she mentioned something that caught my attention.

From the moment she wakes up until the moment she goes to bed, she is almost always listening to something.

Podcasts. Information. Conversations. Something to learn. Something to improve.

And as we explored this together, something beautiful happened.

She began connecting the dots.

For more than 40 years, she had been carrying responsibilities, managing expectations, learning, solving problems, and taking care of things.

Her mind had become accustomed to constant stimulation.

Even when she wasn't physically doing something, she was still mentally doing something.

She wanted peace, but her daily habits weren't leaving much room to experience it.

And suddenly, she could see it.

Not because I told her what was wrong.

But because she had the space to hear herself.

That is one of my favorite moments as a coach.

When a woman begins recognizing patterns that have been operating in the background of her life for decades.

There is no judgment.

No blame.

Just awareness.

And awareness creates the opportunity for change.

This week, she is experimenting with some fun, simple actions to interrupt those old patterns.

Creating little pockets of quiet.

Noticing how her body feels without constant information coming in.

Allowing herself to experience calm without needing to accomplish something.

I'm excited to hear what she discovers during our next session.

Because transformation doesn't always begin with doing MORE.

Sometimes it begins with giving yourself permission to do LESS.

Midlife Is an Invitation to Rewrite Your Story

I believe midlife is one of the most powerful seasons of a woman's life.

Not because everything suddenly becomes easier.

But because life begins asking us different questions.

Who am I now?

What do I really want?

Why am I still carrying responsibilities that no longer belong to me?

What would my life feel like if I stopped trying to prove my worth?

And perhaps the most important question:

What am I making room for in this next chapter of my life?

Whether you're navigating menopause, an empty nest, changes in your marriage, divorce, grief, retirement, or simply feeling disconnected from the woman you used to be, I want you to know something.

You don't have to figure everything out by yourself.

Sometimes, we are so close to our own stories that we cannot recognize the patterns keeping us stuck.

That's where having someone listen, without judgment or an agenda, can make such a difference.

Someone who helps you connect the dots.

Someone who sees the possibilities you may have stopped seeing.

Someone who reminds you that you are more than everything you've been responsible for.

A Little Practice for You This Week

I want to invite you to try something.

Choose ONE thing you want more of in your life.

Peace? Love? Joy? Confidence? Energy?

Now ask yourself:

1. Where does this already exist in my life, even in the smallest way?

2. What habits, thoughts, or responsibilities might be taking up the space I need to experience more of it?

3. What is one small action I can take today to create room for what I want?

You don't need to change your entire life today.

You just need to become curious about how you've been living it.

And remember, this isn't about pretending your struggles don't exist or blaming yourself for difficult circumstances.

It's about recognizing that even when we cannot control everything around us, we can begin changing how we respond.

Your MORE May Be Waiting on the Other Side of an Honest Conversation

Here's my question for you.

Did anything in this message sting a little?

Did something stir inside you?

Did you recognize yourself in my client's story?

Please don't ignore that feeling.

It may be an invitation to pay attention to something you've been carrying for far too long.

You don't need another long to-do list.

You don't need another person telling you everything you should be doing.

Perhaps what you need is a safe space to pause, be heard, and discover what is really happening beneath the surface.

Your MORE may be waiting on the other side of an honest conversation.

And I would love to have that conversation with you.
